In this post we are going to deepen how to convert a .docx file to epub. Remember that it is very important to work with well-formatted files (here you can find some useful tips).
1. The first thing to do is to add the book in .docx format within Calibre with the “Add” button.
2. After uploading the file in .docx, it is necessary to add all the information related to the book, the author’s name, title, cover and language. In one word: metadata. To do this, just click on the “Edit metadata” button.
3. In the window that will appear, first enter the title and the author, remember to click on the icon with the green arrow next to the text box.
4. Next you will have to insert the cover, just click on the “Browse” button and you can choose the file you need from your computer.
5. The last missing data is the language, to enter it just start writing and select the desired option from the suggested.
6. After entering all the metadata, you can finally convert the .docx file to .epub, you have to click on the “Convert books” button.
7. At this point, a window will appear where you can see a preview of the cover and other metadata of the book on the right. Check if everything is correct and then click on the “OK” button.
8. All you have to do is to click on the “Save to disk” button and select the folder to save the epub file.
